We offer meaningful projects to students of all disciplines. If you are a student looking for a project to work on, please do apply. These project openings are not just for engineering or technical students. We are now offering non-technical projects to students of law, arts, management and sciences as well.
Pre-requisites for applying to a student projects
If you are student of technology and are applying for technical or development related project, please have a look at the pre-requisites below before applying.
If you don't think you have these skills, please do say so. If you tell us what type of skills or awareness you lack (and are serious about developing Free Software skills and ethics), we will be very glad to initiate you in whatever way possible!
- Desktop level knowledge of GNU/Linux - you should be at least using GNU/Linux on your desktop on a day-to-day basis and should have some knowledge of at least desktop-level system administration
- Knowledge of compiling, configuring and installing software - you should have some experience of installing software from source code and binaries and configuring it to do its job.
- Basic programming knowledge - if you want to do a programming related project, you should have some basic experience of writing programs on GNU/Linux
If you are a not a student of technology, requisites for you are listed below:
- Exposure to basics of Free / Open Source Software concepts
- A very good interest in some domain of Free / Open Source Software & GNU/Linux
