Overview of our Support Services

The deepOfix Mail Server is a Free Software product. It is available to you for download over the Internet under the terms of the GNU General Public License with complete source code of all its components. There is no financial obligation on your part if you want to use or share the product. However, this also means that deepOfix does not ship with any explicit or formal warranty or committment to support.

Our support services aim to remedy that. So if you do need the comfort of and right to call up or email someone to help you out with just about any sort of doubt, clarification or problem related to the product, report a bug and get it rectified right away - you've come to the right place.

What is the role of support services in spreading & using Free / Open Source Software?

Most Free & Open Source software does not ship with any explicit guarantee of support. One of the major reasons for this is that the software is distributed at a very low cost or most often, at no cost to the user. However, the word "free" in  Free & Open Source Software does not refer to this (almost) gratis nature of the program. Instead it refers to the inherent freedom associated with the software - freedom to use, modify and share.

Hence, for organisations like ours which involve themselves with developing such Free & Open Source Software full-time, support & services are the only and major revenue stream.
